Why Synergy BMC Exists - and Why It Matters to Me

After 30 years navigating data-driven transformations across both public and private sectors, and always seeming to weave some type of entrepreneurial endeavor into the mix, one truth has become crystal clear: big projects rarely fail because of bad tech - they fail when people, projects, and priorities lose alignment. I’ve played essential roles in many fantastic successes, and I’ve been bruised and tormented by all sorts of failures. In the end - No Regrets!

I’ve always been drawn to the intensity of it, the complexity, the pressure, the messy middle where strategy meets execution. I’m an implementation-centric professional who loves challenging puzzles, thrives in unpredictable environments, and finds energy working long hours alongside the other late-night lunatics - the people who make big things happen (you know who you are).

That mindset, tested and refined across decades of initiatives, is what led to the founding of Synergy BMC in 2021. This isn’t just consulting - it’s the art of guiding digital transformation through the disciplined structure of PMOs and the emotional intelligence of organizational change. I deeply respect the value of, and consistently build towards operational stability and control, but I’ve learned that repeatable, world-class execution doesn’t exist without the relentless, curious individuals who invent, design, and deliver it.

Off the clock, I find balance in nature, endurance sports, gardening, collecting bottlecaps and corks, reading, and spending time with the people who matter most (my wife Robin, daughters Sophia and Julianna, and the rest of my family and friends spread across the countryside). That balance reminds me why the work is worth doing - and why clarity, structure, and honest leadership are so needed in a world of transformative projects everywhere.
